Three quick and easy steps to downloading movies with Easynews.

1.  Sign up for an Easynews account.  Not sure if it's worth it?  It is and here are the Top Seven Reasons for Downloading with Easynews.

2.  Customize Easynews for movie downloads.

• A.  Go to the login page and put your Easynews username and password into the box and login.  That will bring you to this screen.

• B.  Click on the Main Members Page link and you will end up at this page.

• C.  NOTE:  You only have to do steps C-D once to download movies.  You can skip them in future. 
• Click on the "Web Interface Options/Preferences" button as circled in the above picture.  Doing so will load a new page that looks like:

• D.  Click on the Search link as indicated by the red circle above.  On the page that loads, set all of the settings you see in the next picture, then scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the "Save Preferences" button.

•  E.  Go to http://members.easynews.com/global4/search.html .  The following page should show up.
• NOTE:  There is no link to global search anywhere on the Easynews interface that I have found.  It is a good idea to bookmark this page so that you don't have to type the url into the browser everytime.

• F.  There is a lot going on on this screen.  Ignore everything except the keywords field.  In that field, type the title of the movie you want and hit search.  I typed in Ultimatum for the Bourne Ultimatum and the following is a sample of the 43 different files that shows up as of the time of this writing.

• Sidebar:  Of the 43 files that showed up in this search, you have to look at each one and decide if you want it.  Some of them are Spanish, some French, some are just clips, while others are the full movie.  How do you know which is which?  Usually the description on the right gives you most of the clues, but other times you have to look at the filesize.  Generally, anything over 700MB will be a full movie.  You also have to look at the format.  Check out playing movie downloads to determine what you need to watch different file formats. 
• G.  For this, I've chosen a 1.5GB file done with the XVID codec.  It appears to be English.  Clicking the thumbnails or the file will start up your download manager.  I recommend using ReGet Deluxe 5.1 and that is what is pictured below.  NOTE:  You must use a download manager of some sort.  Anything over 255MB on the web can get corrupted if you don't.  So, clicking the file brings up the download manager screen if you have it installed.

• H.  Click the login required button and then put in your Easynews Username and password and then hit OK.  Your download will start.  Simply wait until it is completed.  Look at the kind of speeds you will get on Easynews - 508KB/s.  Download 1.5GB in less than an hour.  This is on a basic DSL connection.

3.  Once the file is downloaded, all you have to do is double click it and voila.  It should play assuming you have the right codec installed and a player capable of playing it.  Most movies are encoded in DivX format on Usenet.  The file extension will usually give away what kind of file it is.  Watch for specific tutorials on how to play the various files you've downloaded or ask the question in the forum.
