Mission

Usenet is a network that has existed since the beginning of the internet and beyond.  In the past, it required a specific program (a Newsreader) to connect to it, browse what is there, and download the files available.  It is not "pretty" or intuitive to use like the web.  To make matters worse, the sheer variety of files makes it very hard to figure out how to find something and then actually run whatever you download.  Usenet was built for computer geeks or those with the time to learn how to use it.

Easynews changed all that by creating a web interface for Usenet.  They made it possible to search the millions of files available on Usenet and made it easy for ordinary people to download what they find straight from a web browser such as internet explorer or firefox.  Half of the battle has been won.  Finding something is now easy, but figuring out how to run what you find is another story.

Easynews Guide provides the unofficial "help file" for Easynews.  Designed to be interactive as well as informative, this site's mission is to show you how to find what you are looking for using Easynews, download it and enjoy it in as few steps as possible.  It will be easy to understand and assume no prior knowledge of anything.  No question will go unanswered and every question is encouraged.  Guaranteed if you are thinking it, hundreds of others are as well.

Where Easynews uses the motto "Usenet Made Easy", Easynews Guide builds on that to give you "Easynews Made Easy".
