Autounrar is a wicked feature of Easynews that makes getting and then using a file very painless. Basically, in order to post files on Usenet they have to be broken into smaller parts, encoded, and compressed. Rar is the tool of choice for doing this. It splits the file and compresses the pieces so they are ready to upload to the news server.
Now, obviously, before you can use this file, you have to download all of the pieces of it, put it back together and then uncompress it turning it back into it's original file. If you know how to do all that then fill your boots. If you don't, then AutoUnrar is your downloading friend.
Using the global search and autounrar in Easynews, files can be presented to exactly as they were uploaded. Easynews will grab all the pieces and put them back together and then give you the link to the finished product which means autounrar makes your life easy.
You may not want to use autounrar if you are looking for a specific piece of a file or only want to download a portion of a file at a time. Why you would want to is beyond me, but whatever floats your boat.
